The financial backing of terrorist activities in Iraq comes from Saudi Arabia
Abu ‘Umar al-Baghdadi, who was the leader of the most active terrorist organization in Iraq, was recently arrested by Iraqi security forces. He confessed that one of Iraq’s neighbors supports Al-Qaeda in Iraq. In this report it was mentioned that the amount of money given to Al-Qaeda in Iraq is equal to half of the total budget that Iraq has. Iraqi security sources did not mentioned the name of the country that supports terrorism and sufficed by what was mentioned above. They did this so the country would not break its political ties with Iraq.

Experts of the region believe that the country under suspicion is Saudi Arabia. They say that there is a lot of evidence which points to the fact that Saudi Arabia is the biggest supporter of terrorism in Iraq. Many of the anti-Shia verdicts and many of the terrorists that enter Iraq from outside of the country stem from Saudi Arabia as well.

The government in Riyadh fears that when the American forces leave Iraq, Iraq will fall into the hands of Shia Muslims.

Al-Baghdadi is 40-years-old and was recently arrested in West Baghdad by Iraqi security forces.
