Islam Times - Houthi Spiritual Leader dies in Yemen

Islam Times – The spiritual leader of the Al-Houthi Movement in Yemen and the biggest Zaydi Shia figure in the world passed away at 86 years old.

Islam Times reports that the office of ‘Abd al-Malak Badr al-Din al-Houthi issued a statement announcing the death of the Houthi spiritual leader. Muhammad ‘Abd al-Salam, the speaker of the Al-Houthi Movement, announced to the Yemen media: “’Allamah Badr al-Din al-Houthi, the father of ‘Abd al-Malak al-Houthi and Hussayn al-Houthi, passed away.”
He added: “The spiritual leader of the Al-Houthi Movement and the first marja’ of the Zaydi sect passed away yesterday morning. He was 86 years old.”
