Donald Trump fields a question from anchor Jorge Ramos during a press conference held on August 25, 2015 in Dubuque, Iowa.
Trump engaged in a prolonged confrontation on Tuesday with Jorge Ramos, the anchor of America’s leading Spanish-language network, first having the well-known news personality removed before allowing him back in.

The Mexican-born Ramos, an anchor for Univision, stood up without being called upon, and began to ask Trump about his immigration proposal, which includes ending automatic US citizenship for infants born in the country to illegal immigrants.

As Ramos began to speak, the billionaire real estate mogul interrupted him, saying he hadn't called on Ramos before repeatedly telling him to "sit down" and then saying, "Go back to Univision."

One of Trump's security details approached Ramos and escorted him outside the conference room. "You cannot deport 11 million people," Ramos said while he was being removed.

The dual US-Mexican citizen who is based in Miami, Florida was referring to Trump's proposal to deport all people in the country illegally before allowing some of them to return.

Ramos was later allowed back into the news conference and they quickly resumed their argument.

"Your immigration plan, it is full of empty promises," Ramos began. "You cannot deny citizenship to children born in this country."

This is Trump’s second confrontation with a reporter in less than a month. He is still under fire for making sexist comments about a Fox News anchor in the first GOP presidential debate earlier this month.

Trump is the frontrunner among 17 presidential candidates in the Republican field. A Rasmussen poll released last week found that a majority of Republican voters (57 percent) believe Trump will be their party’s nominee for the White House.
