Iran, IAEA to discuss latest developments in nuclear case in Vienna

Senior Iranian nuclear negotiator, Abbas Araqchi, is scheduled to hold talks with IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano in the Austrian capital, Vienna, on Tuesday.
 
The Iranian deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs will join another member of the Iranian nuclear negotiating team, Hamid Baeidinejad, who is currently in Vienna.
 
Representatives of the P5+1 group of countries will be also there to discuss the implementation of the July 14 nuclear agreement reached with Iran, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). Stephen Mull, who is the United States’ lead coordinator for the implementation of JCPOA, is also set to travel to Vienna on Sunday.
 
On July 14, Iran and the P5+1 group of countries – the United States, Britain, France, China and Russia plus Germany – reached an agreement on JCPOA in the Austrian capital.
 
Under the JCPOA, limits will be put on Iran’s nuclear activities in exchange for, among other things, the removal of all nuclear-related economic and financial bans against the Islamic Republic.
 
Meanwhile, an Iranian delegation of experts will hold talks Tuesday with IAEA on finalizing outstanding issues with regard to Iran’s nuclear program. Iranian Ambassador to the IAEA Reza Najafi leads the delegation, and Vario Ranta, a deputy to IAEA chief, is in charge of the agency's team.
 
Amano will submit his latest report on Iran’s nuclear issue to IAEA Board of Governors on December 1.
 
The Board of Governors will review the report within 10-14 days and will probably announce its final decision on December 15.
 
Iran has repeatedly said it would abide by its commitments under JCPOA warning the other countries of any non-compliance with their obligations.
