Ayatollah Behjat Passes Away

The last marja’ taqlid of the elder generation, of Imam Khomeini’s generation, has passed away. Ayatollah Muhammad Taqi Behjat, arguably the most pious person who was on this earth, died of a heart attack at the age of 96.

He died in Qom and three days of official morning has been announced in the holy city. People from all over Iran are gathering for funeral services which will take place on Tuesday commencing in his burial at the shrine of Sayyidah Ma’suma, the daughter of Imam Musa Kazim (a).
