30 killed, 94 Injured after Bomb Attack Targeted Weeding in Turkey
The attack took place in the Beybahce neighborhood in the city of Gaziantep province, located near the border with Syria.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

The deputy prime minister, Mehmet Simsek, said the “barbaric” attack appeared to be a suicide bombing. Other officials said it could have been the carried out by either Kurdish militants or ISIS.

Condemning the attack, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said “Those, who cannot overcome Turkey and try to provoke people by abusing ethnic and sectarian sensitiveness, will not prevail.”

"There is no difference between the PKK which martyred 70 security personnel  last month, the FETO (US-based opposition leader Fethullah Gulen) as an actor of July 15 coup bid claiming 240 people and the possible motive of Gaziantep terror attack ISIS,” he added.

A wave of attacks has hit Turkey in the past year that have either been claimed by Kurdistan Workers’ (PKK) militants or ISIS terrorist group. In June, suspected I militants attacked Istanbul’s main airport with guns and bombs, killing 44 people.

The attack comes as the country is still reeling from mid-July botched military coup which the government has blamed on Fethullah Gulen and his followers.

Earlier this week, a string of bombings blamed on the PKK that targeted police and soldiers, killed at least a dozen people. A fragile, two-and-a-half-year peace process between the PKK and the government collapsed last year, leading to a resumption of the three-decade conflict.
