Iraq Expels Saudi Ambassador
Thamer al-Subhan's first provocative measure was his claim over an assassination against him that Riyadh's ambassador to Baghdad blamed on Iran.

His later disparaging remarks about the Iraqi army and its fight against terrorism also angered Baghdad that finally asked Riyadh to replace the diplomat.

The final blow was when Subhan's cousin was killed by the Iraqi army when fighting for the ISIS terrorist group

According to Iraqi journalist Salem Mashkour, the Saudi Ambassador’s cousin was identified as ‘Abdel-Salaam Al-Subhan by the Iraqi authorities.

The incident sparked an outrage among Iraqis when the ambassador refused to denounce the actions of his cousin.

Finally, after several days of exchanging insults with the Saudi Ambassador, Iraq's central government sacked Thamer al-Subhan, saying Baghdad will no longer recognize him
