“We have thorough intelligence that Al Saud, in collusion with the Zionist regime (of Israel), is hatching plots against our country,” Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, the chief of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), said on Tuesday.

He added that enemies have always made efforts to stir insecurity in Iran but the Islamic Republic enjoys “sustainable” security due to the valor of its youths.

Enemies falsely assumed that they could spread insecurity in the eastern parts of Iran such as in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, but “we are witnessing a high degree of security” in such areas, he said.

Iranian forces have recently engaged in clashes with terror groups, thwarting their terrorist activities on the border and within the country, arresting several of them and confiscating large amounts of explosives and bomb-making materials.

On September 20, Iran’s IRGC forces arrested two terrorists of Pakistani nationality in the province of Sistan and Baluchestan.

According to a statement by the IRGC, the terrorists had been funded by Saudi Arabia and had received intelligence assistance from spy agencies of enemy states.

Earlier in September, the IRGC announced that it had dismantled a terrorist group, backed by Saudi Arabia and the United States, in the province of Sistan and Baluchestan.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Jafari warned of Saudi plots in Shia-majority countries in general and said, “Saudi Arabia is trying to sow discord and cause insecurity in Shia countries, but it has not been successful so far.”

He added that enemies of the Muslims created the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group, which has killed many Shia and Sunni Muslims, but they now know that they have no option but to turn to Iran in order to solve the current problems in the Middle East, particularly the war in Syria.

Referring to the Iraqi imposed war on Iran in the 1980s, Jafari said that enemies imposed a war on Iran to hinder the country’s progress and development, but the country has turned into a “major superpower” due to resistance of its people and military forces.
