Saudi Regime Must Allow International Probe on Ansarullah’s Jeddah Attack

Saudi Regime Must Allow International Probe on Ansarullah’s Jeddah Attack
Such an investigation by independent military experts will put an end to Saudi claims which have been out rightly rejected by Yemenis including the Ansarullah movement.

The Saudi regime is using its baseless claims to incite Sunni Muslims against Shiite Muslims as part of its policy of spreading aggressive sectarianism among Muslims. By doing so, Riyadh also hopes that countries such as Pakistan and Egypt will be under pressure from their masses to join the aggression on Yemen on the pretext of responding to the alleged Ansarullah attack on Mecca.

The Saudi regime has made baffling claims that, the missile which landed in Jeddah is the same one that was reportedly fired towards Mecca.  Ansarullah has reiterated that the missile was fired last Thursday only at Jeddah's King Abdul-Aziz International Airport, 75 kilometers northwest of Mecca. Ansarullah sources were quoted as saying the missile, indigenous Borkan-1 (Volcano-1), caused considerable destruction to the airport. Saudi Arabia claimed it intercepted a missile fired towards Mecca without providing any supporting evidence.

Yemeni forces have resorted to attacks inside the Saudi territory in retaliation against Riyadh’s almost daily bombardment of Yemen.  The Ansarullah movement has maintained that it will target all parts of Saudi Arabia except the Holy cities of Mecca and Medina.

Unsubstantiated claims

By falsely claiming Ansarullah fired a missile at Mecca, the Saudi regime actually intends to lay the blame on the Islamic Republic of Iran and accuse Tehran of planning the missile attack on Mecca and Medina.  Saudi rulers have failed in this devious plan and they will also not succeed in pitting the Islamic world against Ansarullah movement.

Following the baseless unsubstantiated claims on Mecca missile attack, Iran urged the Saudi regime desist from misusing Islamic sanctities to achieve its own trivial goals.

“The claim about the Yemenis’ missile attack against the holy Mecca is basically ridiculous,” Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said on Friday.

He urged Saudi and Emirati officials not to resort to such divisive and dangerous propaganda stunts in order to make up for their failed policies and defeats.

The Saudi regime has failed to provide any technical evidence on its allegations and is now seeking support from some of its supporters. Already the United Arab Emirates have joined the Saudi bandwagon to censure the fake attack.

Saudi's Gamble with Religion

By playing the Mecca card, the Saudi regime, just like in the past, is gambling with religion just as it does with politics.

It is therefore not surprising that Saudi Arabia has become more daring in fabricating charges by claiming Yemenis have targeted and area close to Mecca to incite the Muslim public opinion against Yemenis international Probe on Ansarullah’s Jeddah Attack
