Unlike some others, we neither mourn, nor celebrate the result of US elections, Iranian Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei told a crowd of Iranians in capital Tehran.

“We have no judgment about these elections since US is the same US and during the last 37 years, whichever of the parties that were in power, not only they did not do us any good but also always their harm came to the Iranian nation,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

“Unlike some people in the world who mourn the result of US elections or some others who celebrate the result, we neither mourn, nor celebrate since it make no difference for us and we have no worries and thanks God, we are ready for any possible event,” he added.

Referring to US republican President-elect Donald Trump, he said “the one who was elected as US president, once during his campaign said ‘the money spent for wars in recent years, if we had spent it for our domestic issues we could have rebuilt our country’ those who are fascinated by that imaginary point, do they understand the meaning of this remark?”

“The US has spent the money of its people on dishonest wars that resulted in the slaughter of tens of thousands of civilians and destruction of infrastructures in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, and Yemen,” Supreme Leader added.

Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that the facts mentioned during US elections, had been repeatedly mentioned before but some people refused to accept them. He said “insight means you should know who you are dealing with and how does he think of you and you will definitely get hurt if you close your eyes”.

Focusing on the need for such insight among political and non-political elites, he added “fortunately ordinary people possess such insight but it is surprising that some elites, depend on illusions and lack such insight”.
