Islam Times - American attacks on Pakistan must stop

Islam Times – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s provincial assembly ratified a resolution condemning American attacks on Pakistan and stating that they must stop. A copy of this resolution was sent to the American consulate in Peshawar.

Islam Times reports that the resolution ratified by the provincial assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stated that an end to American attacks must end as soon as possible so that order can be established in the region; so that the law can be established.

The resolution also stated that one of the reasons behind anti-American sentiment amongst the villagers is the American drone attacks. These attacks have been considered a factor behind the increase of suicide missions.

America claims that the purpose behind the attacks is to destroy the Taliban and Al-Qaeda. But, the majority of the victims of the American attacks on village areas have been Pakistani civilians. Only 2.5 percent of these attacks have been successful in killing members of the Taliban or Al-Qaeda.

Pakistan is worried that the American strikes will weaken their efforts in fighting the para-military Taliban organization.
