Despite Desperate Enemies Claiming Al-Quds as Their "Capital”, Palestine Shall Be Free: Iran’s Leader
The Leader added that, “Their [the enemy's] announcement of al-Quds as the capital city of [Zionists] occupied Palestine proves their weakness and inability. In regards to Palestine, they are helpless and unable to achieve their goals. Victory is for the Islamic Ummah; Palestine will be free; and the Palestinian people will be victorious.”

Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in Tehran on the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad PBUH when he met state officials, ambassadors of Islamic countries and participants in the 31st International Conference on Islamic Unity.

Enemies of the Islamic Ummah

Ayatollah Khamenei advised Muslim states which have allied with the United States against the interest of their own people by stating: “Today, some enemies and individuals line up against the Islamic Ummah and the Prophet’s PBUH path: the US, global arrogance, the Zionist Regime, reactionaries and individuals, desirous of worldly matters among the Islamic Ummah, all line up."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution dubbed the arrogant front and their allies as the 'modern-day Pharaohs' and held: The modern day "Pharaoh" is represented by the US, the Zionist Regime, and their accomplices, in the region, who seek to create wars in our region, and this is plotted by the U.S.

Ayatollah Khamenei slammed US politicians for trying to sow discord and conflicts among Muslim countries and said: The American officials say that they need to cause war in the region to safeguard the Zionist Regime."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution went on to say: Today, unfortunately, there exist some rulers and elites in our region who act based on American desires. They do whatever the US wants, in opposition to Islam.

Iran desires Islamic unity

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stressed on the Islamic Republic of Iran’s desire to maintain unity among Muslim nations, stating: We have no conflict with Islamic nations. We look for unity; but, in response to this willingness for unity, there are some who seek a war and their policies are based on war. In response, we admonish; we use a language of advice; we rely on admonition. The destiny of the approach that some governments in the region take, as noted in the Quran, will be self-destructive."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution further described Iran's ability to confront ISIS as based in Faith, adding: The enemies of the Islamic Ummah caused distress in our region, thinking they can start a religious war; however, God stopped them and no religious war began and will not begin."

ISIS killed more Sunnis than Shiites

"َAyatollah Khamenei stressed that the war ISIS started was not a sectarian war and held: We stood up to those deceived by the enemies, and, thanks be to God, we became victorious; however, their aspiration was not religious fights, but it was ethnic and community fights they looked for. The number of Sunni Muslims killed by ISIS was more than the number of Shiites killed.

Ayatollah Khamenei finally described Islamic Republic's resistance against ISIS a matter of opposing oppression and mentioned: Our opposition to them, was opposition to oppression, opposition to those who set fire to humans and skinned them alive, to those who practiced political, sexual and complete corruption
