“A Palestinian protester sustained moderate injuries after being shot in the leg by Israeli forces,” Palestinian Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra said in a statement.

On Dec. 6, US. President Donald Trump announced his decision to recognize al-Quds as Israeli regime's capital, sparking widespread anger and protests from across the Arab and Muslim world.

On Friday, hundreds of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip staged demonstrations  dubbed Friday of Rage-- for the fifth week in a row -- to protest the controversial US move.

Organized by Palestinian resistance movement Islamic Jihad, Friday’s demonstration began at the Grand Mosque in Gaza’s southern city of Khan Yunis.

Demonstrators waved Palestinian flags alongside banners reading, "al-Quds is Palestine’s eternal capital."

On December 21, the United Nations General Assembly voted by a resounding majority to reject Trump’s al-Quds move.

The usurper Israeli regime lays claim to the whole al-Quds, but the international community views the ancient city’s eastern sector as occupied land and Palestinians consider a unified al-Quds it as the undisputed capital of their future state.
