95 Killed, 158 Injured in Taliban Bomb Attack in Afghan Capital

30 Jan 2018 04:47

Islam Times - At least 95 people have been killed and more than 158 were wounded after car bombing hit the Afghan capital, Kabul on Saturday.

The Taliban terrorist group claimed responsibility for the bloodshed, with reports confirming that the explosion was close to an old interior ministry building.

At about 12:15 local time, attackers drove an ambulance laden with explosives past a police checkpoint into a busy street that is home to foreign embassies and the city's police headquarters.

The city’s hospitals were overwhelmed by the number of wounded, and officials feared that the death toll could still rise.

The incident comes a week after a Taliban-claimed attack on the Intercontinental Hotel in the city, which left 18 dead, and days after ISIS killed at least three people at the office of Save the Childrenin Jalalabad.
