Erdogan warns about de-escalation zone in Syria

Turkish and US armies agreed to set up a safe zone and develop a peace corridor running from the Euphrates River to the Iraqi border on August 7 to facilitate the return of displaced Syrians in Turkey to their home country and provide security for Turkish border settlements and outposts.

Erdogan said Idlib is being torn down into rubles, just like Aleppo, commenting on the American airstrikes. He added he would try to find a solution to the Idlib problem with regional partners, assuring that this will be discussed with Russia and Iran in their upcoming meeting which will be held in Ankara two weeks from now.

Three million Syrians reside in Idlib and half of them are already internally displaced.

Syria has been critical of non-authorized military incursion into its soil and has time and again warned of the breach of sovereignty made by Turkey, US, France and other countries operating in the country.
