Explosion inside the Green Zone in the Iraqi capital

Islam Times - An explosion was heard from the heavily fortified Green Zone in Baghdad, the Reuters news agency said.

On late Wednesday an explosion was heard in Baghdad from the heavily fortified Green Zone in the Iraqi capital, witnesses said.

The cause of the explosion is not known yet, an Iraqi soldier in the Green Zone confirmed that the sound of the explosion came from the area, but gave no further details.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi announced a curfew in Baghdad until further notice after the deaths and injuries in two days of protests.
