Iranian Parliament Speaker cancels his visit to Turkey

Islam Times - The head of the Islamic Consultative Assembly also called the Iranian Parliament, Ali Larijani, canceled his visit to Turkey following the Turkish attack on northeastern Syria.


The head of the Islamic Consultative Assembly in Iran had received an official invitation from his Turkish counterpart to attend a parliamentary meeting in Istanbul, but Larijani canceled his visit after Ankara announced the start of a "military operation" northeast of Syria.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday announced the start of the military operation in northern Syria.

Erdogan said the military operation in northeastern Syria began today, after reports of explosions in the Syrian town of Ras al-Ain.

For its part, the "Syrian Democratic Forces" confirmed that the Turkish fighter jets launched indiscriminate air strikes amid a great panic among the people.

At the same time, the Kremlin reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin called on Erdogan to "think carefully" before launching an attack on northern Syria.

On the other hand, a Turkish security official said: The Turkish military operation in Syria began with air strikes and will be supported by artillery fire.

According to Al Alam TV correspondent, Turkish artillery targeted Al-Mashrafa village in Ras Al-Ain countryside in Hasaka countryside and Turkish planes launched fake raids.

The Turkish military mechanisms have begun to cross the Syrian border and may go to Ras Al Ain to occupy.
