An important phone call between Putin and Erdogan

The Kremlin said that Putin and Erdogan agreed during the phone call to ensure the safety of Syrian territory.

"Vladimir Putin invited Tayyip Erdogan to come to Russia for a working visit in the coming days. The invitation has been accepted," the Kremlin said in a statement.

The two leaders also discussed the need to avoid confrontations between the Turkish and Syrian armies, the statement said.

On October 9, the Turkish army launched an attack on northern Syria under the name "Operation Peace Spring", in which civilian casualties were reported.
