Islam Times - Pompeo: Erdogan is responsible for instability in the region

Islam Times - US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo confirmed that he still plans to visit Turkey today, accusing Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of being responsible for instability in the region.

Pompeo said that he expected to meet the Turkish president during his visit to Ankara.

The US Secretary of State stressed that his country is working to ensure that situation will not escalate in Syria, pointing out that he looks forward to a solution to the situation in Syria.

This comes after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he would not meet with US Vice President Mike Pence and US Secretary of State during their expected visit to Ankara.

"Pompeo and Pence will meet their Turkish counterparts, but I will only talk to US President Donald Trump, if he decides to come," he told reporters.
