Islam Times - Pelosi: Trump exploded in anger during a meeting on the situation in Syria

Islam Times - US President Donald Trump “exploded in anger” during a meeting with congressional leaders on the situation in Syria and the Turkish operation, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting on Wednesday, Pelosi said the meeting was cut after Trump threw a hissy fit.

The speaker attributed Trump's anger to the results of the House vote on Dan's decision to withdraw US troops from northern Syria.

She said “I think the vote, especially the size of the vote, where more than two-thirds of Republicans opposed what the president has done, has affected the president, he was so shocked.”

"That is why we have not been able to continue the meeting because he has lost contact with reality." She added.

House majority leader Democrat Steny Hoyer accused President Trump of "creating a crisis in the Middle East."

Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer also said Trump had no plan to tackle ISIS militants.

Schumer pointed out that Trump spoke insultingly with Speaker of the House of Representatives Pelosi, describing it as a "third-class political."

Meanwhile, House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy blamed Nancy Pelosi for cutting the meeting, saying she left him angry, he added that she had contacted President Trump in an unacceptable way.

In his meeting with congressional leaders, Trump was due to discuss the situation in Syria against the backdrop of the Turkish military operation against the Kurds in the northeast.

Before the meeting, the House of Representatives adopted a resolution condemning Trump's decision to withdraw US troops from northern Syria.
