18 Oct 2019 10:14

Islam Times - Demonstrations continue throughout Lebanon to condemn the difficult living conditions of the Lebanese people as a result of economic policies and attempts to impose new taxes on low-income and poor classes.

Since the early morning hours of Friday, all the civil and trade union organizations organized a gathering in front of the government headquarters in Beirut and called for the gathering and the continuation of the demonstrations to find radical solutions to the economic crisis, especially taxes that affect the living standards of the citizen directly.

The riot control elements of the government palace tried yesterday night to break up the sit-in at the courtyard of the government palace by force, causing several injuries and material damage.

Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt called on Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri to resign from the government with the ministers of the Progressive Socialist Party and the Future Movement.

There are reports that Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri will address the Lebanese people on the latest events.
