Pelosi Strongly Attacks Trump and Criticizes Him for This Reason
In a statement released after Trump announced on Sunday that US special forces had launched a security operation that led to the elimination of al-Baghdadi in Syria, Pelosi indicated that the administration should have briefed the top congressional leadership and members of the House of Representatives on the operation, which was reported to the Russian side in advance before the launch of the operation.

Pelosi, a member of the Democratic Party leading the investigation to isolate Trump from power, said that Al-Qaida itself should apply in relation to the Trump administration's overall Middle East strategy.

Pelosi, who holds the third most important position in the US system, implicitly accused the head of state of incompetence by saying: "Our armed forces and allies deserve strong, wise and strategic leadership from Washington."

She said the House of Representatives had called on Trump in a statement adopted earlier this month, to provide a clear strategy on the next steps in the fight against "ISIS".

Pelosi described the killing of Baghdadi as a "significant event," adding that it did not mean dismantling ISIS as a whole.

Pelosi's criticism comes after Trump's speech to announce Baghdadi's liquidation, thanked Russia for its contribution to the process.

Trump said the US military had notified their Russian counterparts of their intention to move soldiers involved in the operation against al-Baghdadi over Syrian-controlled areas aboard eight helicopters, without revealing the target of the operation.

Trump said he did not disclose the process to Congress in fear of leaks.

The spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry, Igor Konalshenkov, said that the ministry does not have information to confirm the killing of the leader of "ISIS" in Idlib, Syria, denying any assistance to the overflight of US aircraft in the region.
