Israeli Forces Plans to Displace 300 Palestinians and Demolish Houses in Qalansuwa

Islam Times - Hundreds of Palestinians north of the city of Qalansuwa, one of the cities of the southern triangle in the territories occupied since 1948, are at risk of displacement, after the so-called Israeli District Planning and Building Committee sent them summonses in preparation for handing over demolition orders to their homes, claiming to build without a permit.

According to Palestinian sources, the Israeli occupation authorities handed over 25 house owners a summons in preparation for the demolition order.

The neighborhood of Qalansuwa is not limited to demolition orders and prosecutions by the Israeli authorities. The neighborhood has been marginalized from local authority for many years, suffering from poor infrastructure.

The suffering of the population is especially acute in winter, due to poor infrastructure and  streets, and a lack of sewage and waterways.

Following the dispatch of the summons, the national forces and political frameworks in Qalansuwa considered the move "unprecedented and very dangerous; it threatens a whole neighborhood with demolition and displacement."
