Islam Times - Afghanistan Announces the Defeat of ISIS in Nangarhar

Islam Times - The Afghan branch of ISIS has been defeated in the eastern province of Nangarhar, acting Interior Minister Masood Andrabi said on Sunday.

He told reporters in Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar province, that "ISIS was defeated in Nangarhar, and their centre of operation were destroyed, in the midst of continuous operations against terrorists.

"We will soon destroy their last hideout, With the help of the people, we will eliminate them completely. There are small groups that surrendered, and other small groups will be eliminated in another state."

"ISIS is suffering a total defeat in Afghanistan." Andrabi added

The spokesman for the governor of Nangarhar province Ataullah announced that 32 "ISIS" fighters surrendered to government forces on Saturday.

ISIS was involved in the Afghan conflict in 2015 when it took control of large swathes of Nangarhar and Kunar states near the border of Pakistan.
