The White House Refuses to Participate in Impeachment Hearings

White House lawyer Pat Siboloni said in a letter to the Democratic chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Jerry Nadler: "We cannot be expected to participate in a hearing while witnesses have not yet been named, and it remains unclear whether the judicial committee will allow the president fair procedures by allowing additional hearings."

The second round of hearings on the president's accountability will begin on Wednesday.

"Therefore, under the current circumstances, we do not intend to participate in Wednesday's hearing," he said.
