Unidentified Gunmen Open Fire on Demonstrators in Baghdad
An Iraqi security source said that unknown armed men in civilian cars opened fire on the demonstrators in the neighborhood of Al-Sank Garage and Al-Khilani Square in central Baghdad.

The spokesperson for the Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Abdel Karim Khalaf indicated that a dispute occurred between protesters inside Al-Sank  garage, which was used during incendiary bombs.

The security incident came a few hours after the religious authority in Iraq called to reject the infiltrators who are working to divert the path of the demonstrations from their peacefulness, emphasizing the importance of unity and the right of the demonstrators' demands.

For the second consecutive day, in response to the religious authority’s directions, mass marches were held in Baghdad and the Iraqi provinces, under the slogan of “peaceful, not subversive,” stressing the support of the authority and rejecting external interference and sabotage operations, with the participation of popular activities and representatives of religious bodies and clan elders, who stressed the integrity of the demonstrations.

The People of Karbala stressed the achievement of security and stability, support for the law, and the protection of peaceful demonstrators, stressing support for the true demands of peaceful demonstrators in the demonstration arenas, especially the issuance of a fair election law and the development of the Independent High Electoral Commission Law.
