Documents Reveal the United States Mislead Public Opinion About the War in Afghanistan
The newspaper said, in its Monday edition: The documents, which include more than 400 interviews with US officials and insiders from the departments of US President Donald Trump and his predecessors, revealed how senior officials concealed evidence that the 18-year war was unbreakable and issued rosy statements which they knew It is false.

"We didn't have a basic understanding of Afghanistan ... We didn't know what to do," a senior US official was quoted as saying.

American officials have admitted that their war strategies were mortally flawed and that Washington had wasted huge sums of money in an attempt to reshape Afghanistan into a modern country, as they described them.

The Washington Post released these documents two days after talks between the United States and the Taliban resumed in the Qatari capital, Doha.

It is worth noting that about 2,300 American soldiers have been killed and more than 20,000 injured in Afghanistan since America's occupation of the country in 2001, according to what the American states announce.

And the US occupation of Afghanistan has turned into a hotbed for the Takfiri groups that control large areas of the country, which has lost the country’s security and stability, while the American promises lied about rebuilding the country and achieving stability.
