Washington Intends to Withdraw 4 Thousand Soldiers from Afghanistan

The channel "NBC News" quoted an unidentified source as saying that the number of US military personnel in Afghanistan will shrink to about 9,000, indicating that the withdrawal of US military personnel will be gradual and will take months.

The US President, Donald Trump, had arrived in Afghanistan about two weeks ago on an unplanned and unannounced visit, where he had met the US military there and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.

Trump has repeatedly announced his intention to withdraw US forces from Afghanistan.
