Islam Times - Syrian Army Takes Control of Urum Al-Kubra in Aleppo Countryside

Islam Times - The Al-Alam news channel correspondent from Syria stated that the Syrian army extended its control over Urum al-Kubra in the southwestern countryside of Aleppo after fighting with militants of the terrorist Nusra Front.

Units of the Syrian Army continued their military operations to the west of the International Highway (M5) and took control of the "Urum al-Kubra" town, the largest stronghold of the "Jabhat al-Nusra" organization in the southwestern countryside of Aleppo.

Media sources said, "The Syrian army's storming units have taken control of the strategic town on the old Aleppo-Idlib Road (Road 60) after violent clashes with Al-Nusra militants and their armed allies, in the context of the broad operation they are launching in the area."

They said, quoting a field source in the (Task Force 25 Special Tasks), that "controlling" Greater Urm "means the fall of the largest strongholds of Nusra, southwest of Aleppo, and an increase in the safety cord on the West Bank of the International Road (Aleppo, Damascus)."

The source added that "units of the Syrian army continued their advance to the north immediately, and took control of the" Radwan Association "located on the same region, amid a collapse in the ranks of the organization."
