Islam times - “Israel's” so-called ‘National’ Security Council head and Advisor Meir Ben-Shabbat announced he will leave office on Wednesday, according to a statement by the Zionist entity’s Prime Minister's office.
Ben-Shabbat notified Naftali Bennett that he wished to end his position after a four-year term, terminating at the end of August. Bennett is expected to appoint a replacement until then.
“I would like to commend Meir Ben-Shabbat for his many years of contribution to ‘Israel's’ security in a professional and successful manner,” Bennett said in the statement.
The “Israeli” prime minister also thanked him for easing the transition from the previous government by staying on.
Ben-Shabbat previously agreed to stay on until further notice when the apartheid entity’s new government took office.
A 54-year-old, Ben-Shabbat joined the Shin Bet [“Israel” Security Agency] in 1989. He led the Shin Bet's efforts against Hamas in the 2008-2009 Gaza Strip operation Cast Lead.
