Islam Times - The health department of Dhi Qar province in Iraq announced that the number of victims of the fire outbreak at Imam Hussein (AS) Hospital in the city of Nasiriyah had increased to 54.

It is said that the explosion of the oxygen capsule caused the fire inside the coronavirus care center at Imam Hossein (AS) Hospital.

Some Iraqi media sources reported that five hospital medical staff, two nurses, three women and an Iraqi Interior Ministry force (possibly hospital security officer) were among the fire victims.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi has traveled to the southern Iraqi city of Nasiriyah, the capital of Dhi Qar province, to follow the latest condition of the hospital. Al-Kazemi convened an extraordinary meeting in the city of Nasiriyah to investigate the incident.

The speaker of the Iraqi parliament, Mohammed al-Halbousi, also announced on Twitter that he would convene a meeting at the Iraqi parliament today, Tuesday, to investigate the fire at Imam Hussein Hospital.

The search continues to find the victims of the accident. The fire broke out on Monday night.
