Islam Times - The ISIS terrorist group claimed responsibility for today's attack in Kabul near the Afghan Presidential Palace.
The ISIS terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack on the Presidential Palace in Kabul's Green Zone.
Residents of Kabul's Green Zone heard at least three explosions this morning. The sound was caused by a rocket hitting a place near the Presidential Palace in Afghanistan.
The group said it had fired seven Katyusha rockets at the center.
Three rockets landed near the Afghan Presidential Palace on Tuesday morning during Eid al-Adha, where Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and other politicians and officials were present.
The rockets landed when they just started the prayer.
Sources confirmed that the rockets were fired from the Parwan-e-Se area in Kabul’s District 18 in the north of the city.
The rockets landed in Bagh-e-Ali Mardan and Chaman-e-Hozori areas in Kabul’s District 1 and Manabe Bashari area in Kabul’s District 2 – all near the Presidential Palace.
Local reports claimed that the rockets were fired around 8:00 am (local time) near the heavily-fortified "Green Zone" which houses the presidential palace and several other diplomatic missions, including the US embassy.
