Lebanon Records More Israeli Intrusions, Following Up on Matter
Israeli spy aircraft violated the Lebanese airspace three times between the hours of 3:15 and 17:00 local time on Thursday, and conducted overflights in southern and northern Lebanon as well as the Jbeil region, the Lebanese army said in a statement carried by Lebanon’s National New Agency on Friday.

The army further said that four violations by Israeli warplanes had also been recorded on Thursday, adding that the jets had carried out flights over the sea west of Beirut up to Jbeil (Byblos) in northern Lebanon.

According to the statement, the issue is being followed up in coordination with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

Israeli aircraft have been intruding into Lebanon’s skies on an almost daily basis since 2006, when the Tel Aviv regime withdrew from the country’s south after staging a devastating war against it.

Lebanon’s government, the Hezbollah resistance movement, and UNIFIL have repeatedly condemned the overflights, saying they are in clear violation of UN Resolution 1701 and the country’s sovereignty.

UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which brokered a ceasefire in the war of aggression Israel launched against Lebanon in 2006, calls on Tel Aviv to respect Lebanese sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In 2009, Lebanon filed a complaint with the UN, presenting over 7,000 documents pertaining to Israeli violations of Lebanese territory.
