Wikileaks documents confirm U.S. forces executing ten Iraqi civilians
Islam Times: Wikileaks mentioned that the telegram dated (04/06/2006) sent by Philip Alston, special reporter on extrajudicial executions, stressed that U.S. troops tied and executed nine members of one family and a woman who was visiting them in their home in the city Balad (the province of Salah Al-Din, North of Baghdad), and then asked the U.S. military to launch an air strike to wipe out the evidence.

Alston wrote, according to the telegram, "I want to draw the attention of your government (Washington) to an operation carried by the multinational force in (15/3/2006) in the house of Fayez Hatar Khalaf Al-Majma`i, a farmer in Balad in the Salaheddin province," and he added "I have received several reports that indicate the killing of at least ten people in this operation."

Alston added, "According to information we received, when the U.S. forces approached at dawn on March 15, 2006, it seems that shooting coming from Al-Majma`i home was heard, and there was also an exchange of fire that lasted 25 minutes. And then the American soldiers broke into home and tied the hands of the residents, then killed them."

The diplomatic telegram, published in Geneva and sent to the Secretary of State in Washington and the U.S. Mission to the United Nations, continued "and then, an air strike destroyed the house.”
