BFHR reports fresh abuses at Bahrain’s Jaw Prison
According to the Bahrain Forum for Human Rights (BFHR), “water was intentionally cut off from sanitation facilities last week for three days.”

“The same method has been used repeatedly in recent weeks, in addition to the violation of the right to adequate food for prisoners,” the BFHR added.

The rights group also highlighted the ongoing practice of denying inmates access to proper medical care. This form of intentional “negligence” has resulted in the deterioration of health of many political detainees, including Elias Mullah, who is being denied adequate treatment for his colon cancer.

In January of this year, the administration at Jaw imposed new restrictions on the prison population.

Last month, over 1,000 Bahraini political prisoners launched an open-ended hunger strike demanding better living conditions and an end to the systematic use of torture.
