Islam Times - In an exclusive interview to Islam Times, Dr Rifaat SAyed opened up on the role of Egypt in the Middle East within the framework of the Gaza War and the authorities’ attitude toward Islamic countries and Israel.

Dr Ahmed explained that Egypt’s clear lack of support for Gaza at a time when Israel proved most vicious and deadly toward civilian populations in the Gaza strip has generated much confusion and upset across the region, putting a serious question mark over Egypt’s ability to position itself as an influential player in the Israel versus Palestine dynamic.

Since the Gaza War, Egypt has lost a lot of its credibility in the Islamic world as it appeared more intent on supporting Israel than Gazans.
