Sullivan: US to Impose New Sanctions against Iran in Upcoming Days
According to the statement, US President Joe Biden, together with the US’ allies and partners and leaders of both chambers of the US Congress, is developing a "comprehensive response" to the Iranian retaliatory operation against Israel, TASS reported.

"In the coming days, the United States will impose new sanctions targeting Iran, including its missile and drone program as well as new sanctions against entities supporting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Iran’s Defense Ministry," the statement reads.

The new US hostile decision against Iran comes as Washington is providing full support for the Israeli regime in its brutal war in the Gaza Strip. White House officials are also turning a blind eye to Iran's legitimate right to self-defense against Israeli aggression on its consulate in Damascus on April 1.

The Israeli regime attacked Iran's consulate in the Syrian capital of Damascus on April 1. The Israeli aggression led to the destruction of the entire building and the martyrdom and injury of the entire people inside it.

Seven of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) military advisors were martyred following the Israeli attack on Iran's consulate in Damascus, IRGC said in a statement.

In response to the Israeli aggression, Iran attacked the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories with a barrage of drones and missiles early on April 13.

Following the attack, Iran announced that it does not seek to create tension in the region and had carried out the anti-Zionist operation to punish the Zionist regime. However, the Iranian political and military officials have strongly warned that the country would give a severe response in case of any fresh Israeli aggression.
