Israelis and Americans were pleased when Omar Sulaiman was appointed an adviser of Prince Nayef
The report noted that, although the news was not confirmed but some Western sources have hinted that Prince Nayef wants to explain to the world through this appointment that he would not abandon the Western presence in the Kingdom in case of his succession of King Abdullah.

The report addressed some of the aspects of Omar Sulaiman’s life. He was chairman of the Egyptian intelligence services for years and an Egyptian deputy appointed by Mubarak in a last attempt to stay on the throne.

The report added that the Egyptian military had cleared Omar Suleiman of any involvement in the killing of Egyptian demonstrators. He wasn’t appointed to a position in the new government at the request of the Egyptian public.

The report noted that the reason for the Israeli satisfaction upon appointing Sulaiman to the position is due to Tel Aviv’s fear from Prince Nayef because of his previous position regarding Israel and the adoption of the “conspiracy theory” that claims the involvement of Israel in the events of September 11, 2001.

The report said that the presence of Omar Sulaiman in this position will reduce a lot of hostility towards Israel due to Sulaiman’s proximity to the United States and Israel, since he was a director of the Egyptian intelligence in the era of Mubarak.
