Palestinian Official warns of Masjid al-Aqsa Destruction

Ahmad al-Rawidi, the head of the Jerusalem section of the PLO, stated in a letter to the press: “Israeli tunnels under Masjid al-Aqsa are dangerous for this mosque and the surrounding areas.” He added: “Land has collapsed in surrounding areas, especially in an area called Wad Halwah.”

Al-Rawidi clearly wrote: “These tunnels are a serious threat to Masjid al-Aqsa. The tunnels have reached underneath the mosque itself. A natural earthquake or a Zionist controlled ‘shake’ could cause the mosque to collapse. The houses surrounding the mosque would also be in grave danger.”
