Occupy DC faces winter
At Freedom Plaza, difficulties in weather, food, and supplies are pitting demonstrators not only against what they perceive as social injustice in American politics, but nature's elements, battling to survive temperatures lower than 15 degrees Fahrenheit.

Those that have migrated here, ultimately view Washington DC, the nation's capital as the necessary place to influence politicians, voters, and a system they want to see change.

Despite winter weather health risks, limited supplies, and an acknowledgement of increased sickness, these demonstrators have vowed to stay throughout the winter months, and beyond, determined to keep the issues of economic inequality and social injustice at the forefront of the collective American conversation.

Braving colder temperatures than ever, occupiers here seem undeterred in achieving their goals and making their voice heard particularly with election season nearing, and candidates campaigning for political power.
