About 30 students at George Washington University, in Washington DC, raised signs and left the auditorium in silence on Monday night, Haaretz reported.

The ambassador was giving a lecture about "Ultimate Allies: Israel and the United States."

The students held signs reading "Oren supports colonialism," "What is the best way to stop terrorism? Stop committing it!" and "What are you going to do with 30 billion?" referring to US military aid to Israel over the next decade.

The US has allocated close to USD 3 billion per year to Israel, entirely devoted to the purchase of US weapons, under a bilateral memorandum for ten years.

In February 2010, at least eleven students were arrested for interrupting Oren’s lecture at the University of California, Irvine.

The students were found guilty on two counts of misdemeanors and sentenced to three years probation.
