Palestinians protest Israeli demolition orders
Earlier this month, Israel again issued demolition orders, this time for over 50 dwelling structures. The Israeli civil administration has also informed residents of Susya that it implements soon six demolition orders issued in 1990s and 2001.

Susya has been demolished by Israeli forces five times since 1986, while surrounding Israeli settlements have been expanded. Other than displacement, complete demolition of the village and the confiscation of village lands, Palestinian residents of Susya, who lived in either caves or tents, have also been the victims of armed harassment by Israeli settlers.

Susya is surrounded by four Israeli settlements as well as several outposts, all deemed illegal under international law.

Although Susya and its residents have much support from their fellow Palestinians as well as international solidarity activists, the villagers still fear that the village will be demolished again by Israeli occupation forces.
