Paris Conference leaves out Moscow and Beijing
But Russia has already criticized US calls for a no-fly zone. Moscow says the U-S criticism of its stance on the unrest in Syria is inappropriate.

Neither China nor Russia, the two permanent members of the UN Security Council, attended the Paris conference. None of Syria’s neighbors, except Turkey, were invited.

Meanwhile, new reports speak of interference into the Syrian unrest by the US and its allies, particularly by providing arms to the Opposition.

Yet, the very Opposition says it is unhappy with the Paris Conference.

Although the Paris Conference is named Circle of the Friends of the Syrian People, questions have been raised over if the real representatives of the people of Syria were invited to the meeting and although the Syrian Opposition claims to represent the ordinary Syrians, none of its members are elected representatives.

Experts warn, action by Western countries could lead to extensive civilian deaths.

They also insist, Syrians have to decide for themselves and the Syrian Opposition should be careful about the vested interests of the US and its allies and should find their own.

The Paris Conference may have brought together the US and its allies, but it has not solved the Syrian unrest.
