“Muslims should be united against Israel,” says Pakistani scholars
The one-day seminar, “Liberation of Quds and Our responsibilities" was organized jointly by the Anjuman-e-Hemayate Islam, Palestine Foundation of Pakistan and Imamia Students Organization (ISO) at the National Press Club in Islamabad on Monday.

A number of political figures, cultural and religious personalities addressed and attended the seminar.

The speakers said that Israel, a terrorist state, was committed crimes against humanity, noting that the United States of America was backing the Jewish state.

They demanded that the people of Pakistan to largely observe the last Friday of Ramadan, as Quds Day as done in previous years, throughout the country in a show of solidarity.

Those who spoke on the occasion included -- Deputy Chief of the Awami National Party, Senator Haji Adil, Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Ali Raza Haqiqian, Maulana Asghar Askari of Majlise Wahdate Muslemeen, President High Court Bar Association Islamabad Syed Nayab Gardeizi and President of the Imamia Student Organization Athar Imran.

They specially demanded the government of Pakistan to officially announce a struggle for the just cause of Palestine.

They noted that 64 years had passed and still Palestinians were being denied their legitimate rights. They added that unfortunately Arab rulers had betrayed the Palestinians, the Arabs and the Muslim Ummah by their acts of cowardice.  They stressed that the United States is the world’s number one terrorist, adding that Israel is its main ally in the Middle East.

They said that since Arab rulers sided with the U.S. they were then equally responsible for the hardship faced by the people of Palestine. They said that Palestine is a country of the Palestinians and that all the Jews who had been brought to Palestine to change its demographic position should be returned to their countries of origin.

The speakers declared that the people of Pakistan, its political factions and religious parties were supportive of the Palestinians, promising they will continue to support their cause in the future.

A photo exhibition of atrocities committed by Israel in occupied Palestine and Lebanon was also organized on the sideline of the seminar.

Most of the participants visited the photo exhibition.
