Marzouq: what Bahraini people imply without consensus can be cancelled without consensus as well
Commenting on the agreement promoted by the parties as an approach to dialogue, Marzouq described the “right” as intended to be voided, and wondered what the compatibility would be and who should be representing it. In his opinion, Bahrain does not need the dismissal of the Prime Minister to impose a consensus. He also pointed out that the components of the society are part of a vicious public relations campaign intended to reform the politics of the country. According to him, the majority’s political response to the legitimate demands of the minority should not be imposed since the minority does not affect the violation of rights, adding that the political forces will rob the people’s rights and impede the road towards democratization.

Moreover, if Bahrain wants to reach true agreement, the country should take into consideration the real representation of the population to reach a consensus. It should let the people sovereignty be the last recourse through justice, Godly Right, International Law and Human Rights Resolutions so that no Bahraini citizen should be excluded on the basis that all Bahraini citizens have the same rights and duties.

Marzouq refused firmly the idea that one person could decide for another thousand citizens or for the whole population or even the fact that a Bahraini citizen has no opinion.  He stressed on the issue that all Bahrainis should have equal votes and/or representation.

In conclusion, Marzouq stressed on his refusal of having Bahrain’s choices exclusively in the hands of one person regardless of his position.  He added that Bahrain’s decisions are that of every citizen.
