Ayatollah Qassim: the regime’s warning to Alwefaq will not stop Freedom Movement
He stressed that as any other nations, Bahrainis aspired to live free and in a dignified manner, hence their demands for freedom and democracy.

In his Friday sermon the Sheikh said emphatically that Bahrainis simply refused to leave in shame and humiliation.

He added “Since we have only one life and one planet to live in, we have a choice, either we live in fear and humiliation, or we die trying to assert our freedom and dignity.” The comment came as an answer to the Foreign Ministry’s tweet, which read “either obey the law or move out.”

He continued, addressing the regime "How can you [the regime] imply that Bahrainis should leave their land, their nation, their country for they seek to live in freedom. One cannot address His people in such a disrespectful way? There is no other country for Bahrainis but Bahrain, and Bahrainis are entitled to demand what is rightfully theirs – Freedom, dignity, peace and a respectful life – How can an honest state tell his people to live the land of their forefathers?”

In reference to the new academic year, the scholar emphasized that the militarization of Universities and schools were not the solution but rather part of the problem. He advised all students to work extra hard and keep within religious boundaries as to create an atmosphere of calm and trust among citizens.

In regards to the publication of the much controversial anti-Islam movie, Sheikh Issa said that such abuse against the prophet of Islam was “worse than an act of war” stressing that the West had once too many insulted Islam, the prophet and God. He emphasized that such an act on Prophet Mohammed had torn the hearts of all Muslims as they all very much revered and loved him. Anger across the Muslim world simply exploded when an American-made defamatory movie was uploaded onto the Internet, leading to sheer fury in several Muslim cities.

Sheikh Issa explained that while Islam respected Jesus and counted him as a prophet of God, other religions should show similar respect to Islam and refrain from insulting Muslims’ beliefs.

He warned that if the West could not see what message it was sending to the Muslim world through such attack then western politicians were irrevocably stupid.

He finished his speech by saying “Muslims everywhere are carrying a heart full of hatred as it is the very soul of their belief which was desecrated.”
