“The attack was the first since a massive anti-drone rally was organized last weekend near the lawless region known as the stronghold of all Taliban and al Qaeda militants,” they added.
“Several U.S drones flew into the area before dawn and fired four missiles on a compound, killing five suspected militants
The identity of those killed in the strike has yet to be determined. Drone strikes and the death of many innocent Pakistanis put a strain on Pakistan and America’s diplomatic relations over the past few months, as anger is growing nationwide.
Such attacks by unmanned U.S aircrafts remain contentious, and unpopular in Pakistan, as many believe they violate Pakistan’s national sovereignty and fan anti-U.S sentiment in the region.
