Anti-Islam forces simulate rifts between Shia and Sunni, says Pakistani scholar
Talking to Islam Times, Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami, Sindh Dr.Meraj-ul-Huda Saddiq noted, “these evil forces are also forcing infidels to carryout blasphemous acts against Prophet Mohammed (PBUH); making profane movie is part of the conspiracies. He added the issues of sectarian violence and blasphemous movies were actually correlated and indicated that there was a conspiracy to get Muslims to split over sectarian matters.

The cleric emphasized that the only way to eradicate sectarian violence in the region was for all Muslims, all sects included to ally and stand together as one. He urged religious leaders to promote unity over hatred and tolerance over violence.

He emphatically stressed that “time was of the essence as the enemies of Islam were barking at our doors, waving the flag of sectarianism to weaken Islam and its followers.”

He declared the state had an obligation to national peace and harmony.

The cleric deplored the fear and agony experienced by many citizens as their relatives were being slaughtered by the hands of fanatics, saying the government had failed to protect its people.

He urged the international community and the West to set aside its “double standard policies”, denouncing ethnic cleansing in some part of the world while turning a blind eye in others as it suited their political agenda and/or policies.

He noted that while the publication of objectionable and controversial snaps of British princess Catherine had been banned in France, the blasphemous anti-Islam movie had been protected under the “Freedom of expression” label.

To a question about Karachi’s violence, he explained Shiite people were being killed because they were Muslims, as were Sunni people.

He strongly asserted his belief that sectarian killings were being organized by western powers as to weaken Islam across the world.

He said, “We need to have sectarian harmony and tolerance to defeat the evil forces.”
