Canadians in several cities protest against Israeli attacks
Since Thursday, hundreds of Canadians have staged daily rallies throughout Canada opposing the Israeli airstrikes.

“We organized emergency demonstrations across Canada in quite a few cities to call on the international community to immediately put a stop to the bombing and terrible aggression against Gaza,” said Peggy Morton, one of the protesters.

Many called on Canadian authorities to condemn the airstrikes and the blockade on Gaza.

On Thursday, a protest with a crowd of 300 was held outside the Israeli consulate in Toronto, where activists chanted, “Stop the killing in Palestine.”

One protester stood on a podium and called for the “Israeli war machine” to end.

On Friday, 150 Canadians marched outside the Consulate General of Israel in Montreal to protest at the attacks taking place on the Gaza Strip.

In Edmonton, on Saturday, hundreds of demonstrators stood in Churchill Square calling for an end to the violence on the Gaza Strip.

Several other protests were held in the cities of Calgary, Halifax, Nanaimo, Ottawa, Regina and St Catherines during Friday and Saturday.

On Sunday, more protests are planned to be held in cities such as Hamilton and Winnipeg.

The Israeli offensive, which started on November 14, has left scores injured and more than 70 Palestinians dead, mainly children that make up almost half of the Palestinian population in the besieged enclave.
