Iran: The West is using double standards in dealing with the events in Bahrain

Salehi received on Wednesday a number of members of the institution and the Central Council of the International Scientific Organization for political experts and analysts. He said that “the West do not stand by their principles, where they ignore these principles and policies when their interests are threatened”, saying that “developments in Bahrain and Syria are examples of their double standard policy.”

He added - as quoted by the news agency «Mehr» - “They are ignoring the peaceful protests in Bahrain, and when they saw that the protests in Syria did not reach the capital Damascus, they sent foreigners to Syria and provided them with weapons”.

Salehi continued: “Regarding the developments in the region, particularly Syria and Bahrain, we must attempt through the right analysis of the situations, to apply the logic of discussion and non-violence as soon as possible, as well as informing people of the foreign interventions and double standard policies of the Western countries and their false propaganda that is trying to cover up their former policies in new frames.
